Limited Edition Prints On Display At Didsbury Bar

Mar 28, 2008

KENDAL, CUMBRIA UK -- Didsbury's Slug & Lettuce bar is to play host to a showcase of limited edition prints by leading contemporary artists such as 1Miles Donovan, 2Natsko Seki and 3Johanna Basford. All the wall art pieces on display are available for purchase and have been created, often exclusively, for Design Supremo, the online creative hub and artistic outlet.

Typical of the high standard met by the 12 pieces on display is 'Love Will Tear Us Apart Again'. This is an intricate and fascinating typographical poster by 4Peter Crnokrak offering a visually stunning representation of the 85+ recorded cover versions of Manchester band Joy Division's anthem 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'.

There's also DIY Design by Ben Dodgson, Managing Director of Design Supremo, which allows anyone to create their own unique piece of artwork about the things they love and hate. It consists of a set of Love/Hate blank prints plus a huge selection of transferable words produced exclusively by Letraset.

The artwork will be on show at the Slug & Lettuce bar on Wilmslow Road from 18th March for a limited period. Purchases can be made at www.designsupremo.com where there are also further details about the artists and their artwork.

Ben Dodgson commented, "Design Supremo is a creative collective, a group of carefully selected designers providing a constantly evolving collection of innovative and contemporary design, illustration and photography. Our products appeal to those who look for high quality, unique design and a touch of exclusivity". He continued "A showcase of this nature is a first-of-its-kind for Design Supremo. Didsbury is one of Manchester's creative centres, so it made perfect sense to show our art here. And we're delighted that the Slug & Lettuce have been so supportive in helping us to achieve this."

Adele Dunn, Manager of Slug & Lettuce, Didsbury added "We've always done our bit for supporting local artists and have successfully showcased a range of original artwork in the bar over the years. We were looking to highlight new work after our resident artist moved from the area and Design Supremo ticked all the boxes in terms of offering artwork with the quality and uniqueness that our clients want".
