It seemed to me that there was no 'one stop' website that could provide me with comprehensive information about pets."
After experiencing frustration with the lack of pet information on the Internet, Swarens decided to start FindAPetOnline.com. Since then, the site has continued to expand.
"We started off like many of the pet sites on the Internet," continued Swarens. "We provided pet owners and buyers with a classified ads system that allowed them to find each other. Then, we developed a searchable database that made it easier for pet owners to find veterinarians, groomers, boarders, pet trainers and pet rescues in their area."
The comprehensive database wasn't enough for Swarens, however, which is why the site has now launched its pet profile section. Here, pet owners can read the breed information for over 430 different types of pets. In addition, the site features numerous articles that help visitors learn more about pets before they make a purchase.
"Our hope is that owners will make more informed decisions," said Swarens. "By providing accurate information in our pet profiles and articles, we hope to help people pick the perfect pets for them. That way, both the owner and the pet can be happy."
