New Tween Social Network and Shopping Website Launches: Welcome to ShopLikeAnna

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Girls ages eight to fifteen have a new and fashionable alternative to social networking sites like Facebook or Myspace: ShopLikeAnna.com, a website that allows girls to talk, shop, and "friendwork". Most importantly, Shop Like Anna is limited to individuals under the age of fifteen and requires verification from a parent or guardian before users can participate, making it a much safer environment than most social media. In addition to the fact that the site is constantly overseen by the Shop Like Anna employees and users can flag any content they find uncomfortable or objectionable, the staff has a working relationship with the FBI in order to ensure that the site is a safe environment for their users.

Shop Like Anna came to be because the founder's daughter, Anna, wanted a place online where she could shop, chat, and share with her friends - and she wasn't old enough to use popular social networking sites. Thus, Shop Like Anna was born. In addition to the secure social networking aspect, users can shop using pre-loaded "Anna Points", "doodle" (draw on pictures submitted by themselves and friends), and read articles that topics relevant to their lives, including style, entertainment, and celebrity.

The site also features profiles and advice from women in a variety of careers, such as photographers, fashion designers, and more. Currently, Shop Like Anna features an interview with Danica McKellar, actress and author of Math Doesn't Suck: How To Survive Middle School Math Without Losing Your Mind or Breaking A Nail and an interview with the admissions counselor for the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
