British Start-Up Trumps Amazon, Sony, Google

Oct 16, 2007

DUNSTABLE, ENGLAND -- AnyTongueBooks.Com Re-invents the Book, eReaders now "obsolete".

Dunstable, England. 15 October 2007. AnyTongueBooks.Com today claimed that its new 3D-BOOK makes Amazon's "Kindle" eBook reader obsolete, and defines Google's proposed online digital book service as irrelevant.

"We'd include iRex Technology's iLiad and Sony's eReader in that statement" said Marketing Manager Sue Downes, "along with the Rocketbook, if anyone remembers that. Those developers have once again gone down the wrong road.".

Speaking at the launch of their first 3D-BOOK in Dunstable, England, Ms Downes said that developers were making the same mistakes that led to the original Rocketbook, which sank with barely a ripple.

"It's not another £300 device to lug around that readers want, nor is it another source of visually boring text documents opened in a word processor", she said, "It's a new type of book for the 21st Century with all the power and enjoyment of an ordinary book, but with full content, and the sensory experience taken to a new level."

The 3D-BOOK has an audio player, a video player, a browser, and a text display management system, including variable speed automated scrolling, all integrated into one downloadable unit, which is wrapped around the book being purchased.

AnyTongueBooks.Com, which already offers it's standard books wrapped in it's Dynamic eBook reader, and in a choice of nine languages, has been developing the concept for over two years, and claims the 3D-BOOK expands the writer's creative ability.

"This is a new, supplementary process for creative writing. The writer is able to enhance the creative process. Our first 3D-BOOK is the extended edition of Bruce Moore-King's "White Man Black War", which includes "Objects In The Rear View Mirror" the sequel to the original book."

"Moore-King, a former Special Forces War Veteran, has re-worked actual war and other documentary footage, to give audio-visual expression to his writing."

"The result is a stunning sensory experience that no ordinary book or eBook player can begin to match. You read, hear, and see what the writer is trying to say. Only a 3D-BOOK can achieve this"

Asked why she thought Amazon's upcoming "Kindle" portable reader would fail, Ms Downes said;

"Firstly, because this new 3D-BOOK medium is so incredibly powerful. For example, in this book Moore-King has included audio-visual as well as written expressions of his experiences of combat and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and his startling opinion on what really causes the latter. He includes a very angry personal foreword to war veterans everywhere. Readers get the full sensory experience, as well as reading the book, which itself has a print out option."

"Secondly, because there is no need for a new device. Portable devices already exist, and most people already have them, so why spend money on another gadget that is nothing more than an under - performing, over - priced, emasculated laptop? A modern laptop running a 3D-BOOK is the ultimate portable reader and player. You just sit back and enjoy full sensory stimulation, on a laptop or a PC."

The 3D-BOOK of White Man Black War/Objects In The Rear View Mirror is available in nine languages from http://www.anytonguebooks.com/ (£6-50)
(501 words)
