MINERAL WELLS, TEXAS -- Author S.L. Jensen's new book is getting good reviews from readers. The Bride Collapse Murder is a short 185 pages but packed with drama, conspiracy, espionage and murder. Jensen's book was inspired by the 2002 I-40 bridge collapse on the Arkansas River. This creative author takes the reader from a conspiracy to a murder with more intrigue as the assassin hired to do the job becomes the hunted. Allen Howell is not just any assassin and his specialty is leaving no trace of the crime, a master of disguise, a clever and deadly killer he has to find out who has double crossed his team. Follow Allen from the big city of Dallas, Texas to the small village of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma and on to Minot, North Dakota and back. It is an exciting story with characters that seem real.
S.L. Jensen was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1947 and now lives in Mineral Wells, Texas. She has been active in promoting her book locally with plans to take it further in late summer. There have been two book signings in Mineral Wells, one hosted by The Book Satchell another hosted by Nancy's Italian Grill. She has been a guest speaker at two events locally. July 19,2008 Jensen will be a guest on a radio show in Weatherford, Texas, interviewed by Linda Bagwell of Weatherford College. There will be a book signing in Muskogee, Oklahoma in July but the location is still to be announced.
The charming grandmother said a young man recently asked about her book, she happily told him abou the carnage and mayhem only to notice he looked shocked. She asked him, "What did you think I wrote about, cookbooks or children's stories?"
He replied, " I just can't see you writing a murder story, I like them, but it just doesn't seem right, you are reading a book about a dog right now."
Most responses to the book have been positive and the new author is encouraged enough to begin a sequel to The Bridge Collapse Murder using some of the main characters in the next book.
Publish America is the publisher and they are easily found online. Barnes & Nobel has the book in most places as well as Amazon.com and other stores and sites.
Jerry Pittman of Covina, California had this to say about the book: " I read one or two books a day and I admit this book didn't seem like a winner until I started reading it. I was impressed with the imaginative but believable story and I could not stop reading. For a first book it was amazing how well it kept my attention."
Actor Brendan Wayne, the late John Wayne's grandson, said the book would make a good movie.
Tanner Beard, actor, producer, director and writer said he enjoyed the book very much. It is a good book for a trip, just about right for a two or three hour flight and it is one you can't put down once you get started.
