ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN -- The Detroit International Auto Salon (DIAS) announced today a forging technology forum, "Forge Ahead with Technology" highlighting respected experts from Japan. Dr. Munenori Ono, Professor of the prestigious Daido Institute of Technology, and Dr. Kichitaro Shinozaki of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology will present latest technological advances in the forging process from Japan.
"The Japanese carmakers have excelled in bringing new, cost-effective techniques into the automobile manufacturing process," says Eric Huang, Chairman of the Detroit International Auto Salon. "We are delighted that both Dr. Ono & Dr. Shinozaki will speak on the state of the forging industry in Japan, and the latest precision-controlled, multiple forging techniques. We hope that engineers and manufacturers in the auto industry take advantage to attend this informative event."
Dr. Munenori Ono is a member of Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity (JSTP), Japan Institute of Light Metals, and Iron & Steel Institute of Japan, and has written numerous papers appearing in the Journal of the JSTP. Dr. Kichitaro Shinozaki is a recognized expert in the field of forging and is a contributing author for the Handbook of Aluminum.
"This is a first in a monthly series of events at DIAS," said Mr. Huang, " We are planning concerts, other technical symposia, and working with local government to sponsor worthwhile celebrations and community activities."
The DIAS Forging Forum will be held on March 26, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 16630 Southfield Road, Allen Park, Michigan 48101. Lunch will be provided. The scheduled program includes presentations by the featured speakers, networking with auto industry executives, and tour of the DIAS facilities.
