UNITED KINGDOM -- When this Air Pinch Valve is in a fully opened position, the flow of a product is in direct line with the elastomer sleeve, replacing the need for a gasket. It helps in maintaining positive control over the flow of liquid, fluid or material. The valve is constructed with a casing, flanged or screw type ends and the elastomer sleeve, which is the crucial and controlling part of the valve. The opening and closing of the valve whether a screw type or flange, is either by manual means or compressed air pressure fed into the casing.
This variety of valve is designed and constructed to operate without damaging cavitations for the specified conditions. The Air operated Pinch Valve is able to exercise control over a product flow by the incorporation in the design, of multiple tapered outlets on the elastomer sleeve. The formations of the outlets are able to direct a product flow towards joining at the center of a downstream discharge pipe. It has the capacity to regulate and measure a product flow, by a linear motion. This exposes the number of outlets on the sleeve, which are required to achieve the correct flow rate.
With its simple design and construction the Pneumatic Pinch Valve is a benefit to users and a critical factor in cost effective operation, related to minimum downtime and low maintenance costs. This is due to there being only one part of the valve is subject to wear, the elastomer sleeve. Unlike other varieties of valves, apart from this single component, there is not any other part having contact with the product flow. Because of
its operational nature the valve does not require an actuator.
Controls and Pinch Valves
It is required in various applications that at certain stages the flow product rate is regulated or throttled, between full and minimum. This is achieved with the controlling influence of Pneumatic Pinch Valves, by the introduction of flow resistance or by-passing the flow with a directional change. Of particular benefit to users is that to ensure a forced opening this type of valve can be connected directly to a closing mechanism.
This action is achievable by the so called "opening tabs.
There are a variety of different names for mechanical valves that permit single directional flows of fluids, liquid, gas or other materials. They may be termed check valves, non-return valves or one-way valves. An Air Pinch Valve has a basic construction, consisting of a casing, two end flanges and the crucial elastomer sleeve. Adding to its performance
capabilities is the ability to operate effectively with extreme pressures, which can vary between high vacuum, up to pressures of thousands of pounds per square inch.
AKO Armaturen have manufactured Air operated Pinch Valves for over 25 years. Its customers are related to industrial sectors such as chemicals, foodstuffs, paper, power plant and recycling technology, waste water treatment and in particular in the minerals handling cement, sand and silo engineering sectors.
