This amazing peak in sales is backed up by this year being heralded as the "Year of the Console" with an estimated 1.8 million consoles being unwrapped on Christmas day.

Amazon.co.uk, having survived a brief site crash last Sunday will be looking to concrete its reputation as the leading online retailer. They will be hoping to capitalize on the popular searches list published by online research company Experian Hitwise. The annually created list details the most popular online searches for the Christmas period, Apple related products dominate. Amazon will be looking to sell vast quantities of iPads, iPad Touches and of course, the site owned Amazon Kindle.

However, one of the unexpected online retailers to be performing well this Christmas is Cloggs.co.uk. The online footwear retailer has been an official retailer of genuine UGG Australia Ugg Boots for several years and is looking to take advantage of "ugg boots" taking fourth place on the most searched items list. However, Cloggs.co.uk has been lucky enough to secure the two items on Experian's search list, the second being Hunter Wellies. These stylish rain boots have gained popularity through celebrity endorsement and severe weather conditions.

Whatever item customers are looking for this Christmas they will undoubtedly be able to find their item online. The online retail business is set to experience one of its best Christmas' seasons to date.
