Urbana City Spa & Teabar Voted Charlottes's Best

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- Voters in the 2007 Best of Citysearch competition voted Urbana Cityspa & Teabar top day spa in Charlotte in voting that ended May 3. Polls are open annually in Citysearch's Health and Beauty category, and Best Day Spa is a coveted award.

Urbana opened its doors in Charlotte in April 2007 with a prototype that focuses on an international mix of massage and premium looseleaf teas in a spa environment. Owner Nancy Goodwin says she is thrilled about receiving the award and to have Urbana's staff receive such wonderful recognition. "Our goal has been to deliver something very special to Charlotte, and this says that we have. Our goal now is to exceed the expectations this award will create."

Goodwin says the award has additional significance. "Our environment is very spa-like, but we are an all-massage facility. Today, with nail spas, pet spas and even auto spas, the word 'spa' is used a bit freely, but being named Charlotte's Best Day Spa means that voters believe in us as a true day spa." Urbana was also named Best Day Spa earlier this year in a Critic's Picks competition held by the Charlotte Observer.
