Latina Fashion Designer Icel De Jesus Designs for Miss Universe 2007 Pageant

NEW YORK, NY -- The Miss Honduras Universe pageant organization assigned Latina fashion designer Icel De Jesus to design and tailor the evening gowns Miss Honduras will wear at the Miss Universe 2007 pageant. The prestigious event will take place on Monday May 28, 2007 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico.


Fashion designer Icel De Jesus, based in New York City was previously in Honduras where she was invited as International Judge of the Miss Honduras pageant. During her stay, she met with Miss Honduras, Wendy Salgado, Ricardo Caballero Flores and Carlos Rivera of Carimaxx Productions and showed them 10 evening gowns she exclusively designed for Salgado.


"Miss Honduras, Wendy Salgado will be dressed in gold and aqua for the preliminary and final gala. These colors complement her skin tone very well. The dresses are elaborated in beautiful fabrics such as silk chiffon, silk satin, and embellished with beads and sequin. They will highlight her natural beauty and accentuate her figure," notes the designer.


Icel De Jesus is a New York native, born to Dominican parents. In 1998, she graduated from the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T) with degrees in both Interior and Fashion Design. She has over 9 years in the fashion industry, participated in numerous fashion shows and events and has created several ready-to-wear, sportswear and recently haute couture lines. She is emerging in the fashion world taking the name of "ICEL".
