Disabled Albuquerque Womans Home Being Sold at Auction

Oct 12, 2009

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- Ms. Stevenson of Albuquerque New Mexico got behind on her mortgage payments due to unforseen complications that arose from an infection due to the back surgery she recieved.  Ms. Stevenson contacted her Realtor in Febraury 2009 to place her home on the market when she got 2 months behind and the mortgage lender would no longer accept payments from her.

She was advised by her mortgage lender to due a loan modification an not to put her home up for sale.  She began the process of loan modification and did not place her home up for sale.  The foreclosure proceedings continued against her.  On August 20, 2009 she received a letter from the mortgage lender that her loan modification was not approved and to contact Freddie Mac to do a loan modification.  She contacted Freddie Mac and they told her it would take aproximately 30-45 days to do her loan modification.  She received a letter from the the court advising her that her home would be placed up for auction on September 29, 2009.  This would not be enough time for Freddie Mac to approve a loan modification.  She called her Realtor to place her home up for sale.  Her Realtor advised her to write the court to ask for more time to sell the property.  She was granted a hearing and the judge postponed the sale to October 13, 2009 still not enough time for Freddie Mac to due a loan modification.

To this day she is still being told by her mortgage lender that they are trying to due a loan modification for her.  This is the same mortgage lender that initially approved her loan based upon her disability income.  Ms. Stevenson is being left with no home, no place for her 3 dogs and no place to recover from her back surgery.

Ms. Stevenson would like to modify her loan and stay in the property.
