SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA -- NFL Picks authority SBRforum.com has opened its registration for the 7th annual Free Football Handicapping Contest, available at SBR Contests. The 2011 "Beat the Prick" contest, as the SBR Forum community calls it, has contestants squaring off each week in an attempt to defeat "The Prick", the unkempt forum mascot known for his signature southern charm, pithy one-liners and stellar handicapping abilities.
The premise of the contest is simple; "The Prick" makes four football picks at the start of each week, taking those picks off the board while forum contestants choose from that weekend's NFL and NCAAF slate of sides and totals. Those who outscore "The Prick" with a positive units record receive a weighted share of 50,000 SBR points per week. Standings are kept each week and at the conclusion of the 15 week contest, the top ten finishers receive part of a whopping $10,000 prize. Contestants are mathematically eligible to claim the grand prize if they join the football handicapping contest prior to week five. The cash is paid to the winners with no strings attached after the 15th NFL week.
Contestants can redeem their SBR Points for electronics, gift cards and even pizza at the SBR Store. Prizes are all free without any hidden costs to the contestant; the shipping charge is covered by SBR Forum.
Last year, forum poster Ksmort successfully "Beat The Prick" and was our $5000 grand prize winner. He participated in the 15 week contest and had the best handicapping record out of over 1200 registered players. This year SBR Forum expects to have 2000 registered players from around the world participate in the competition.
Week One kicks off Tuesday September 6, 2011 and will end on Monday December 19, 2011.
