"Breadth of Life" Gala in Honor of 6-Year Old Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Victim

CHICAGO, IL -- Ms. Amber Carey Gitter will chair the "Breadth of Life Gala" on October 11, 2007 at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago in honor of Alexander Tonin Marku, the 6 year-old poor boy who died last January of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in Albania.

Last October, Amber Carey Gitter met Alexander Tonin Marku at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.  Amber remembers that "he was a very thin and pale little boy with an oxygen tank attached to his back...Melinda,  his single immigant mother was the only one in the USA who tried to help Alex."  Alex's mother lost all her children and Alex to CF. 

Ms. Carey Gitter is also Chairing the event in honor of Melinda Preka, Founder of the Foundation of Hope for Sick Children of Albania, who tried to save Alex’s life.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has consistently been recognized as one of the top voluntary health organizations in the USA according to SmartMoney, Wall Street Journal and Forbes Magazine.
