Floor Safety Canada Set to Keep People on Their Feet

VICTORIA, BC -- Floor Safety Canada, a company brought to our country by two elderly ladies from Missaugga, is officially open for business.

Carol Vorosuk one of the founders states, "We had heard about a USA based company called Floor Safety USA and we approached them about Canada, at first they were a bit reluctant, I mean we are not the typical person who opens a business, but with a little coaxing, and after introducing them to our team, they let us give it a go."

After just a few months they are now meeting and working with a who’s who of brand name companies, Sarah McAllister the west coast representative and a door opening leader states, "Quite frankly, no one is approaching this dangerous problem like our team, and I suppose that is why the doors are truly opening up for us, our company statement is Saving Lives, Saving Resources, and we take that very seriously."

In Canada some sixty thousand workers get injured annually due to fall accidents. This number represents about fifteen percent of the "time-loss injuries" that were accepted by workers' compensation boards or commissions across Canada.

3 Canadian workers die from an occupational injury every working day, and more than 3000 are injured. Every minute worked costs the Canadian economy roughly $77,500 in compensation payments to workers for accidents and injuries. The number of work days lost due to occupational injury is equivalent to the number of days worked for 62,150 full-time jobs in one year.

Slips, trips, and falls account for 12,000, or 15 percent, of all accidental deaths each year. Not only must retail establishments worry about the liabilities associated with slip and falls, but all permanent job sites aside from domestic, mining, or agricultural settings must comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards regarding walking and working surfaces. Data shows that juries in 44 percent of slip-and-fall lawsuits award damages against defendants, and the mean award for such jury verdicts is over $220,000.
