FAIRFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) has named MV Transportation as its Corporate Citizen of the Year.
The award will be presented to MV's founder and owner Feysan Lodde on Tuesday, July 27 in Miami, Florida during the organization's 2007 National Meeting and Training Conference.
"We are very proud of this achievement as it further demonstrates that MV is a great company, with great people who care about the people and the communities we serve," said Lodde. "Simply being recognized for our hard work by transit industry leaders is one our greatest achievements."
The Corporate Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually to private companies and recognizes their commitment toward diversity within the transportation industry.
Founded in 1971, COMTO was created to provide a forum for senior level minority professionals in the transportation industry. With 35 chapters and more than 2000 members encompassing individual, organizational, transportation agencies, non-profits and Historically Underutilized Businesses, (Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises) their efforts have ensured that members of COMTO now serve in every sector of the transportation industry.
MV has been an active member of COMTO since 2005. Since that time, the company has sponsored several of the organization's national and local chapter initiatives. In May 2007, Shirley Delibero, the COMTO National Chair, was appointed to the MV Board of Directors.
