FAIRFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- The Foothill Transit Board of Directors recently voted unanimously to award a three year contract, with two one year options, to MV Transportation for the management and operation of the Irwindale facility.
Under the terms of the $133.8 million contract, MV will operate and maintain 139 fixed-route buses and employee 385 employees.

Created in 1988, Foothill Transit, is a joint powers authority of 21-member cities in the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. In an effort to provide better public transportation to the community while reducing costs and improving local control, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission (LACTC) approved Foothill Transit's application to assume operation of fixed-route service in parts of San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys.
In addition to the Foothill operation, MV has nine divisions and employs more than 850 people in Southern California.
MV General Manager Wayne Fritz, will lead the company's experienced team for Foothill. Fritz's experience in operating Foothill Transit is unmatched as he successfully lead the Pomona operation for 6 years before joining MV.
