Parents Thankful for Recovery of Drug Addict Son

Nov 25, 2009

LOS ANGELES, CA -- "Alcohol, crack, ecstasy, heroin, meth, pot, speed; each of these substances can become addictive; lead to disease or even death" commented Catherine Savage, Director of Community Affairs for Narconon California.

"We read it in the paper or hear it on the news; tragic deaths of kids not yet out of high school, grieving families and school mates left behind. It happens far more often that it makes headlines. But there is another story; the story of recovery and healing." Mrs. Savage continued, "One mother wrote;

'Our son Brian had become aloof, unaccountable, and distant; blaming everyone except himself. His marriage had failed. When he came home for a visit he was at an all time low physically, mentally and spiritually. It was frightening. Brian told us he was addicted to drugs and alcohol; we were stunned.

We began looking for a"program. Brian was ready. "Scared but ready to do whatever it takes to be whole again" were his words to us. We just wanted our son back. "We happened on to the Narconon California web site and called.

The trip home after dropping him off was pure hell for me. I was scared to death for him. Could he get off the drugs?

But he never waivered in his commitment to himself and to us. He was serious from the moment he heard about Narconon California. He was determined to find himself again and be all of who he is. Brian has done the work; he is whole, not broken."Now he is at home with himself. I can see it in his eyes.

I can't put into words what this means to all of his family. We are proud of him. We will forever be grateful for this program. Thank you all so much.'
