MonkeyBrains Expands into TelX
Apr 25, 2008
MonkeyBrains.net has been providing ISP services in San Francisco since 1998 and moved their core services into 200 Paul Ave in April of 2002. Currently, the ISP rents space from United Layer (5th floor), TelX (3rd floor), and XO (second floor) in 200 Paul Ave. Also, they have a presense in another XO facility in SOMA. The addition of TelX gives MonkeyBrains access to the nexus of 200 Paul: the TelX managed Meet-Me-Room. Taking advantage of their new location, MonkeyBrains is adding a Gigabit connection to Global Crossing. The core business of MonkeyBrains is colocation. Small business need to get online and don't have the resources to establish a presence in a premier data center. MonkeyBrains bridges that gap by offering one server to full cabinet options in a semi-managed environment. MonkeyBrains negotiates bandwidth deals, colocation leases, and manages the core network for their customers. Other services offered are: IP transit, web hosting, corporate email hosting, and 56K dial-up. Alex Menendez and Rudy Rucker are the core people behind MonkeyBrains.net. They met while working as Engineers at Macromedia back in the first dot-com bubble days. With his earnings, Mr. Rucker left the corporate world to start his own business. Knowledgeable of Mr. Menedez's technical and business skills, Mr. Rucker partnered with Mr. Menendez to help MonkeyBrains grow. ### Keywords: colocation, affordable, cheap, 200 Paul, bandwidth Technology » Web and Internet |
