Notebooks concentrates on providing an efficient and inspiring environment. It supports full-screen and landscape modes, both important for delivering the best writing and reading experience by maximizing screen space on the iPhone.

Gestures are available for flipping back and forth between notes, bringing back a touch of the traditional notebook.

Notes may be structured in arbitrarily nested "books" (hence Notebooks), which supports the idea of keeping separate books for separate things: business topics, travel journals, diaries, reminders or todos all reside in separate books and are still in one place.
Notes may be easily reorganized, and moving a note to a different book never requires more than two taps.

Using Bonjour technology, Notebooks imports text documents from a computer with no configuration needed. Notebooks also provides convenient functions for emailing either a single note or all notes in a book.
