MANNASSAS, VA -- At the International On Hold Messaging Association (OHMA)’s 7th Annual International Conference, Joe Martin, Vice President of Business Development for Focuspoint Inc. received dual honors. Mr. Martin was awarded the OHMA’s inaugural Chairman’s Award for outstanding contributions to the association and was elected Chairman of the Board for 2007-2008.
The OHMA conference was held in Tampa, Florida from March 11-14th, 2007. When asked how he enjoyed the conference, Mr. Martin responded, “Every year I look forward to the OHMA conference. This association’s mission is to promote the On Hold Messaging Industry, and the conference is a great opportunity for the membership to come together and really connect on our business’ issues.”
Culminating the conference each year is the Dinner Gala, a night of networking, enjoyment, and awards. During the event, Mr. Martin’s election to Chairman for 2007-2008 was also announced. In assuming his position as Chairman, Mr. Martin will continue serving on the OHMA Board of Directors, of which he was Vice Chairman this past year.
That same evening, current OHMA Chairman, Rick Hodges, presented Mr. Martin with the inaugural Chairman’s Award. Commenting on these honors, Mr. Martin stated, “This association supports 70 members from 12 countries, in one of the world’s fastest growing industries. I cannot imagine a more exciting time to spearhead the OHMA’s efforts and I look forward to continuing the work I have begun.”
Mr. Martin’s election also continues the Focuspoint Inc. legacy of community and industry involvement. Leading this commitment to others is Focuspoint Inc. CEO, Creston Owen, who served as OHMA Chairman in 2005-2006 and was actively involved in the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. When asked to comment on Mr. Martin’s achievements, Mr. Owen replied, “This is a man who is not only highly involved in the OHMA, but is also the Chairman of the Board of Prince William County Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce.
