Nominations Open for Most Dynamic Boomer Diva Awards

Feb 19, 2008

DURHAM, NC -- BAM Enterprises is now accepting nominations for women who have earned the right to be called a Most Dynamic Baby Boomer Diva.  "Any woman who is 40-plus is eligible," according to Beverly Mahone, whose company is sponsoring the Awards. "We are looking for baby boomer women who have made a remarkable difference in their own lives or in the lives of others.

Twelve deserving women will be honored during a luncheon at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach, FL on April 19, 2008. Each winner will receive a plaque along with a fabulous prize package fit for a Queen Diva. In addition, the women will grace the pages of the 2009 Boomer Diva Nation Calendar. Guest speaker for the luncheon will be baby boomer diva Bern Nadette Stanis, who played Thelma on the TV sitcom, Good Times.

The luncheon is part of the First Annual Baby Boomer Girlfriends Weekend Getaway, which will consist of empowerment workshops, pamper me mini-spas, entertainment and fun contests.  The weekend will also include the taping of a Town Hall Meeting by PBS Station WCEU-TV where women will have the opportunity to voice their concerns about the issues they face at midlife and beyond.

Mahone says the Most Dynamic Baby Boomer Diva Awards will become a fixture in the annual Weekend Event, designed to spotlight women who represent what it means to age with grace, dignity and style. "We're not looking for glamour gals. We want women who represent a 'spiritual' beauty while they are on the move and making a difference ."

The luncheon is open to the public and the contest is open to ticket holders only.
